2017 String Quartet Master Class

On April 24, 2017, we hosted four student string quartets in our annual master class. Talented student groups performed well-prepared quartet movements by Borodin, Ravel, Grieg and Prokofiev in the Seddon Recital Hall on the campus of the University of the Incarnate Word. Each member of the Camerata San Antonio core string quartet worked with the students to help make their performances even better. All this, in front of an audience of interested patrons!

String Quartet Seminar

This week the quartet is in teaching mode as the artist-faculty at the Cadenza Academy’s String Quartet Seminar. We’ll be coaching four student quartets (and one quintet) in music by Haydn, Mozart, Dvorak and Villa-Lobos. Matthew and Stacey will also be working with six young super-talented violin students! We’re looking forward to the finale concert on July 22, where the kids will put what they’ve learned into action on stage at the University of the Incarnate Word’s  Recital Hall.
